I apologize for the post below this one. Somehow our server was hacked into and I don’t know how to delete that message. I think DuroSport Fanatic must have given himself a higher permission level than mine. Typical DuroSport.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have an operative inside of the DuroSport company. We’re getting lots of good information that I think we can use in the class action lawsuit. Take a look at this recent complaint:

I was arrested while attempting to board a flight from Texas to South Korea while carrying a Prism DuroSport 6000. The department of homeland security indicated that carrying the device on a plane may be a felony, and additionally the State Department expressed concerns that I was leaving the country (Or “exporting” as they called it) with the DuroSport (or “radiological device” as they referred to it.) I have not noticed any such information on the FAQ and would like, to therefore, return my Prism6000 for a refund.

I can’t believe that you guys don’t like the Prism DuroSport!!!! I listen to my 6000 all the time! The things that those assholes at Medialoper said in there idiotic review are totally mean and lies. Their stupid! Stupid! Stupid! They make me so mad! No way that something a neat as the 6000 could be radioactive, unless that means that I can use it to listen to my favorite talk radio stations, than its true. Otherwise, no way.

And, you, Angry Prism DuroSport Owner — if thats even you’re real name – if you believe them your stupid too! I can’t believe that you set up this website. That’s just mean. You suck!! I am going to make it my mission in life to hack into this website and tell the world the truth about how great DuroSport really is.

Cassette Player Died

I know, you probably laughed when you read the title of this post. That means that you probably don’t own a Prism 1 DuroSport player. If you did, you would know that the Cassette drive is the only way to convert your audio files from dt6 to a more standard audio format (like cassette tape). Anyway, the cassette player on my Prism 1 just died and I’m only about half way through converting my music back to cassette (from dt6 - this is after my entire library of 18,000 mp3’s was wiped out by a batch conversion to dt6). It’s taken me what seems like forever to convert about half of my music back cassette. Now I’ve got a wall of cassette tapes and nothing to play them in.

I’ll probably end up buying a regular cassette deck. Do they still make those? Hopefully I won’t have to buy a DuroSport.

DuroSport Customer Support Issues

Has anyone tried calling DuroSport customer support lately? It seems like they are always on vacation. I called last week and received a message directing me to the support schedule on the company website. It looks like their support staff has every other week off! I don’t think that’s normal?

Any ideas on how we can reach DuroSport support?

DuroSport Digital Rights Management (DRM) Problems

DuroSport’s proprietary DRM system has caused numerous problems for DuroSport users. Many of you have made the mistake of allowing the DuroSport Music Manager software to convert your music library to the DT6 secure music format. It seems to be a logical choice since early DuroSport players did not support mp3 or other popular digital music formats. If you are one of the unfortunate users who mistakenly ran a batch mode conversion on your entire library, you know by now that your digital music collection has been wiped out and replaced with DuroSport’s proprietary format. In other words, your entire digital music collection will only play on DuroSport brand players. Talk about vendor lock-in!

Please post any stories you may have about problems with the DuroSport DRM system below - as well as any thoughts you might have on converting your music back to a more standard format.

Battery Problems

It seems like each new version of the Prism DuroSport has some new battery problem that is worse than an previously reported battery problem. We’ve received numerous reports from users who have apparently voided their warranty on THEIR FIRST ATTEMPT TO CHARGE THE PLAYER!

Prism technical support is now help. Once they’ve determined that you have voided your warranty they hang up immediately.

This site is devoted to documenting consumer complaints about the worst mp3 player ever created. Like most of you, were bought our Prism Durosport believing that it was superior to the iPod. After just a few days of use, though, it became apparent that the Durosport company has manufactured a seriously flawed product. To make matters worse, their customer support is virtually non-existant.
